Professor Diablo's True Revue

When: Tue., Jan. 22, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $7-10

While there are barriers in places such as the Mexican-American and Korean frontiers and in the Israeli-occupied territories in the West Bank, the opposite is true elsewhere. As journalist Simon Kuper recently wrote in Financial Times, "Closed borders are by their nature unstable. Too many forces—similarity on both sides of the fence, trade, desire for happiness—gnaw away at them." This could be the epigraph for tonight's edition of Professor Diablo's True Revue, a bimonthly extravaganza of documentary writing, theater, photography and more. Among those who will explore the theme will be author Paul Cuadros, dancer and teacher Andrea E. Woods Valdés, violist Katie Wyatt, dancer Diego Carrasco Schoch and musician John Heitzenrater. Show starts at 8, but get there early. —David Fellerath
