"Shame, shame, shame."
The chant of Democrats on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives last week when the Republican leadership held a five-minute vote open for 50 minutes so they could convince three lawmakers to change their votes on the "Gasoline for America's Security Act of 2005," a giveback to the oil industry to expedite construction of new refineries. Three Republicans who'd been opposed to the measure changed their minds, and the measure passed, 212-210.
