Porch Quote

"Slave life was to them a life of plenty, of simple pleasures, of food, clothes, and good medical care."
From the booklet "Southern Slavery, As It Was," which was read by ninth graders at Cary Christian School until last week. A memo from school officials stated that footnotes and citations in the text, which attempts to provide a biblical justification for slavery, were found to be false. One of the booklet's co-authors, Douglas Wilson, is scheduled to speak at the school's graduation in May.
