--Tom O'Connell, Raleigh agent-in-charge for U.S. Immigration and Customs enforcement, in a bizarre Tar Heel of the Week in the Jan. 4 News & Observer. The hypocrisy of American policy toward illegal immigrants wasn't addressed as, on the one hand, O'Connell said 99 percent of his cases are felons, and on the other, he's the guy who raided four local Wal-Mart stores and arrested 15 cleaning-crew workers. We did find out, however, that his favorite TV show is "King of Queens."
