A—suggests songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Zach Smith IV and Rob Crow still put together meticulous songs notable for their cumulative power: staccato guitar lines that iterate like lengthy equations; multitracked vocals and keys that overlap like colored threads on a melody loom; loping beats that gather into cantering tempos; and narrative fare just sinister enough to cast shadows over this landscape of endless summers.
