Peter Lerangis

When: Mon., Feb. 11, 5 p.m. 2013

We may have given YA fantasy novel protagonists a hard time in that previous blurb, but it ain't easier if you're in a fantasy novel for younger readers. The teen crew in Peter Lerangis' Seven Wonders series are on a quest to find ancient treasures of Atlantis hidden in the seven wonders of the world and return them to their home. It's the only thing that can "save them from certain death due to the genetic abnormality that also gives them superior abilities."

Lerangis has written more than 160 books(!), including several installments in the best-selling series The 39 Clues, and this is getting a major launch. Enjoy it now before the vastly inferior film version gets made! Lerangis is at Quail Ridge Books at 5 p.m. Monday, and also at Flyleaf Books in Chapel Hill at 7 p.m. Tuesday. —Zack Smith
