Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy dedicated the fifth song of his solo-set encore at the N.C. Museum of Art Wednesday night to Brian Paulson, the Chapel Hill producer who made Wilco's first record, A.M., in 1994. Paulson was in attendance, though only a day before he had hunkered down in his studio for the first day of recording on the new Rosebuds album, due on Merge sometime next year. Paulson recently invaded Durham's Music Loft after-hours with long-standing Chapel Hill indie rock luminaries Lud to work on their next album, V. Paulson will also finish the first full-length from Chapel Hill duo Bellafea in September. The follow-up to the band's 2005 debut EP, Family Tree, the as-yet-untitled album will include several local guests. One half of Bellafea, Heather McEntire, plays Saturday night with her side project Un Deux Trois at Wetlands.
