Parts & Labor, Secular Joy

When: Wed., April 27, 9:30 p.m. 2011
Price: $8-10

Aside from co-leaders and co-founders B.J. Warshaw and Dan Friel, the components that make up Brooklyn's Parts & Labor have been in a continual state of flux. Receivers, their 2008 album and first with drummer Joe Wong, featured the group as a four-piece, while this year's Constant Future finds them a trio once again. Despite the turnover, Parts & Labor have been a steadfast source of uncompromising music that treasures punk rock efficacy, post-punk precision, no wave noise and new wave melody in equal measure. Think of it as heady music that's perfect for headbanging. Secular Joy opens. —David Raposa
