I can totally understand Vivian's "escaping" from her hometown. I did the same thing many years prior. I left the south to move to NYC in 1978. In the early 90's my spouse and I moved back so that I could spend time and help with the care of my mother who was in the early stages of alzheimers. I returned with a lot of knowledge of the restaurant business and a new appreciation for my hometown. You can go home again.
