If one thing remains eternal, it is that schools remain bastions of bullying, and the advent of cell phones, the Internet and social media technology have just served to open up new venues for sadism and humiliation, which can lead to depression and suicide for the victims. Susan Kander's new one-act opera, One False Move, explores the issue of female bullying in public schools, with material relevant to male bullying as well. Clinical counselors are available at each performance to discuss the material with the audience afterward. If you want to educate your children about bullying, or just learn more yourself, it's an excellent opportunity to confront one of the darker issues of modern society. Note: This show is not related to the excellent 1992 crime thriller with Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thornton, but you really should put that one on your Netflix queue. It's on streaming! —Zack Smith
