But you don't. Instead, you've got the featured artists of Keepers of the Purple Twilight--an art show at the Century Center in Carrboro that features 50 pieces including paintings, sketches and 3-D artworks.
It's not the first time the three have seen their art up. Romweber, who has 15 paintings in the show, has been painting and drawing for years and occasionally had works on display at the fondly remembered Hardback Cafe. Pelosi, who has a knack for drawing odd people in odd lands, did a lot of his own record covers and drawings for the also fondly remembered Ransom Street zine.
For the most part Seaton and Romweber's works are large and colorful, abstract and intense. Pelosi focuses on black and white images with vignettes and stories from a nether-world high school yearbook.
This is a show not to miss, not just because it'll give you some insight into the other side of these musicians, but because the art will definitely take you places you've never been.
The opening reception is Friday, Nov. 12 at the Century Center from 6-9 p.m. The exhibit, sponsored by the Town of Carrboro Art Committee, is up now through Jan. 3.
