With his quartet Megafaun, Phil Cook generally plays the Triangle's larger rooms—Cat's Cradle, Haw River Ballroom, two-night stands at Kings. The same is true of The Old Ceremony, whose perseverance with idiosyncratic pop that's at once ornate and restrained has pushed them into similar spaces for years. Tonight, they both step into a more appropriately intimate setting. In the 506, Cook's solo folk mix of traditional variations and earnest, endearing variations should feel just right. Meanwhile, The Old Ceremony's entire approach is about filling spaces with style, so they'll fit right in, as always. Tickets for the 9 p.m. show are $8 in advance, $10 at the door. —Grayson Currin
