Obama wins N.C. by a sliver

Barack Obama won North Carolina by just 11,246 votes.

According to the State Board of Elections, with all counties reporting, the Obama/Joe Biden ticket won 2,108,777 votes compared to 2,097,531 for John McCain/ Sarah Palin.

Libertarian Bob Barr received 25,279 votes.

Although most polls in the state closed at 7:30 p.m., by 1:30 a.m., the television networks had still not called the election, saying it was too close.
