New restaurants and happenings

This Easter Sunday, you might want to hold off on gorging yourself with chocolate bunnies and those pesky colored eggs. There are plenty of brunch opportunities in the Triangle to take your mind off what to do with the basket full of Peeps that'll be waiting when you get home.
The Grape at Cameron Village (403 Daniels St., Raleigh, 833-2669, www.yourgrape.com) is pairing three wines with three courses from noon to 3 p.m. for $39; a special children's menu will be offered, but the regular brunch menu will not.
Anotherthyme (109 N. Gregson St., Durham, 682-5225, www.anotherthyme.com) will be serving a special à la carte Easter brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The menu will feature mimosas; smoked trout with cream cheese; tomato and tartar sauce; Philadelphia scramble with scrambled eggs, cheese, dill and chives; grilled chicken and goat cheese bruschetta; and the tried and true favorite MSB sandwich—named after owner-chef Mary S. Bacon—with fried egg, avaocado, tomato, sprouts and melted cheese.
Herons in The Umstead Hotel and Spa (5 SAS Campus Drive, 100 Woodland Pond, Cary, 447-4000, www.heronsrestaurant.com) will be serving its usual Sunday brunch including entrées from the à la carte menu, a selection of salads and antipasti, as well as desserts and a complimentary mimosa or glass of champagne, for $45. Kids under 12 dine for $12. An additional menu featuring a selection of Bloody Marys will be available, as well as the regular wine list. Diners may enjoy eating on the terrace overlooking Herons Herb Garden and three-acre lake, lawn and pool, and can create an even more memorable brunch by perusing the hotel's art collection with brochure in hand (ask the concierge) following brunch.
At Nasher Museum Café (Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, 2001 Campus Drive, Durham, 684-6032, www.nasher.duke.edu), Chef Amy Tornquist will offer an early spring menu from noon to 4:30 p.m. featuring her farmers' market-driven cooking. Kid-friendly items will also be available. Weather permitting, outdoor seating overlooking the Sculpture Garden will be available for enjoying the springtime sun.
Porter's City Tavern (2412 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, 821-2133, www.porterstavern.com) will offer its regular brunch menu, and South (4351 The Circle at North Hills St., Raleigh, 789-0606) will be serving brunch with a Southern twist. Vivace (4209 Lassiter Mill Road, Raleigh, 787-7747, www.vivaceraleigh.com) is offering an outdoor Italian brunch with springtime toast complete with Prosecco.
And if you want to plan for Sunday's breakfast a little in advance, La Farm Bakery (4248 Cary Parkway, Cary, 657-0657, www.lafarmbakery.com) will offer hot cross buns, yeast rolls, linzer challah, Easter bunny bread and a huge selection of tarts and breakfast stratas on the Saturday prior to Easter Sunday. To reserve breads or pastries for pick up, or to place a special order, please call, and note it will be closed on Easter Sunday.
