The classic Russian children's fable Peter and the Wolf will headline an evening of tall tales and beloved music. The story of Young Peter is told by the N.C. Symphony and narrator Heather Patterson King, along with selections from Hansel and Gretel, Harry Potter, Aladdin and more. A costume contest awards prizes to the best Harry Potter-inspired attire. Kids can feel inspired with a trip to the Instrument Zoo, where they can talk to symphony musicians and play with real orchestral instruments. Lawn tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show are $28–$33; table seating is $33–$38. —Ashley Melzer
