N.C. State's Hunt Library

N.C. State's Hunt Library, designed by Norwegian architectural firm Snøhetta, opened last year and has become an architectural destination. Encompassing more than 221,000 square feet, the LEED-certified building includes modern furniture for reading and lounging and a book bot that can deliver up to 2 million volumes using less than 10 percent of the space of traditional shelving.

Located on Centennial Campus, Hunt is the primary library for the university's textile, engineering and science programs. Snøhetta is also responsible for the redesign—in progress—of New York City's Times Square, as well as the expansion of San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the New University of Gambia.
