Nathan Kotecki & PT McHugh

When: Sat., March 9, 3-4 p.m. 2013
Price: Free

There's no escaping the juggernauts of young adult fantasy and science fiction. Even local authors have major new releases in this medium, though thankfully neither appear to involve vampires. Raleigh author Patrick "PT" McHugh is promoting Keeper of the Black Stones, about a teenage boy with time-traveling abilities who must journey to the Middle Ages to stop a rogue time traveler. Durham's Nathan Kotecki has The Suburban Strange, about a new girl at Suburban High who falls in with an artsy crowd and discovers a mysterious curse might be picking off virgins ... which she just happens to be. Well, still no vampires. Huzzah! —Zack Smith
