Thanks to centuries of influence from a rich Scottish heritage, northern Nova Scotia's Cape Breton Island includes a surprisingly thriving scene of Celtic fiddle music. Natalie MacMaster is perhaps the best-known practitioner to those outside the province, having collaborated with stars from Pavarotti and Paul Simon to Yo-Yo Ma and Alison Krauss. Her lightning-quick bowing flashes the inspiration of modern American bluegrass, while the traditional Celtic instrumentals provide a platform for plenty of step dancing. This tour—dubbed Christmas in Cape Breton—promises a dose of holiday favorites, too. —Spencer Griffith
