Vermont psych ensemble MV & EE named their new album Space Homestead, a title that could just as easily embody the outfit's output over the past decade. Matt Valentine and Erika Elder have used a constantly rotating cast of musicians to help realize their visions, usually occupying their own psych-folk niche. Undercurrents of drug-addled distortion never overpower the rustic purity of meandering acoustic tunes. Stray instruments and effects complicate the duo's minimalist fare in a way that reinforces the sublimely simple charms on the surface. —Jordan Lawrence
