Bright Eyes Solo Show

Bright Eyes, aka Omaha/Saddle Creek wunderkind Conor Oberst, is playing a solo set of his fragile, wrenching material at the Carrboro ArtsCenter this Thursday, Nov. 29. Oberst's tortured-naïf/Holden Caulfield-esque delivery is nothing if not intense, and not everyone's cup of tea. But Bright Eyes' albums--most recently Oh Holy Fools, a split with Son Ambulance--a show a confident songwriter with a style all his own. You might miss the flutes, keyboards and eclectic arrangements that characterize such Bright Eyes faves as Fevers and Mirrors, but for fans, this is a chance to hear Oberst's songs in their most pure, undiluted form. Omaha alt-folkie Simon Joyner opens the show. Call the ArtsCenter at 929-2787 for more details.
