The Arsonists, DJ Swamp and Swollen Members
Since 1993, Brooklyn's hip-hop practitioners The Arsonists has pared down to a three-man group: Q-Unique, Jise One and Swel Boogie. With a second single, "What You Want," and the their long-awaited sophomore release, Date of Birth, the trio has even been getting props in the mainstream press (Newsweek). For their fall tour, the trio is out with DJ Swamp, who, besides being Beck's turntablist for the last four years, has appeared on tracks with everyone from Kid Rock and Kool Keith to the Dandy Warhols. Also on the bill is Swollen Members, a Vancouver, B.C. hip-hop crew who've done tracks with Del tha Funky Homosapien, Dilated Peoples and more. They're putting it down this Monday, Nov. 5 at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro.
