The evening's promised highlight is a screening of $100 and a T-Shirt, Joe Biel's feature-length document about zines in the Pacific Northwest. The film includes interviews with approximately 70 zinesters who answer the what, why and how of zine culture. The evening's events will also include readings by Dave Roche and Jack Saturn, authors of On Subbing: The First Four Years and We Ain't Got No Car!, respectively. The film and readings will take place at Hanes Art Center Auditorium; admission is free and the program starts at 7 p.m.
Earlier in the evening, zine fans will have an opportunity to meet zine authors at the Internationalist, located at 405 Franklin St. in Chapel Hill. The open house will run from 4-6 p.m., and visitors will be able to pick up publications from the stock of Microcosm Publishers. Refreshments will be served. --David Fellerath
