Thank you, V.C. Rogers of the Independent, for your tribute to Jesse Helms (Peripheral Visions, July 9). Helms would be proud to have the "Stars and Bars" flying at half-mast in dedication to him. No finer tribute could be given or devised for a favorite son of North Carolina and the South.
