Rempis Percussion Quartet

nightlight--Rempis first rumpled notes with his fire-breathing work in Vandermark Five, in a delicate language of circular slow breath and higher plane blowing. He now keeps busy with his own compositions, ensembles like this and Triage, and a rotating event he runs in his hometown of Chicago. He's joined by other Chi-town natives, including bassist Anton Hatwich, and drummers Tim Daisy and Frank Rosaly, with a set of local improvisors opening. Drums drop at 10 p.m. for $5. --Chris Toenes
