LOCAL 506—Fans of the Saddle Creek Records bunch (Bright Eyes, Cursive, The Good Life) may know Maria Taylor from Azure Ray. Her resigned, sugar-touched voice was half of Azure Ray and supplied the harmonies of many of her labelmates. Her two solo albums, particularly latest Lynn Teeter Flower, contain smartly arranged and devilishly catchy pop songs, all riding along on a soothingly gentle vibe. The songs are all lovely changes, as when the Casio washes that open a "Good Start" turn into snarky vintage Clavinet during the bracing chorus. She'll be joined by Durham's post-modern roots band Erie Choir and The Capitol Years, merchants of melodic garage pop. —Jack McDonald

ACKLAND ART MUSEUM—Enjoy a 50-minute yoga session in the Asian Art Gallery of the Ackland Art Museum. This is also the perfect time to take in the Ackland's survey of South Asian sacred sculpture, entitled Fashioning the Divine, which runs through March 25. Artifacts bearing Buddhist, Hindu and Jain influences will be in the house as you do your plow. The yoga session begins at 12:10.  There is a suggested donation of $5. Bring a mat if you have one. For more information, visit or call 966-5736. —Megan Stein
