N.C. State Campus—Kicking off a three-day series on climate change at N.C. State, journalist and author Elizabeth Kolbert will give the keynote address tonight. Kolbert is a staff writer for The New Yorker and took her three-part series from the magazine and turned it into the new book Field Notes from a Catastrophe: Man, Nature and Climate Change. Kolbert's talk will cover the same territory as her book: the history, science and politics of global climate change. Free and open to the public, the event begins at 7 p.m. in Witherspoon Campus Cinema. More information on the series is on N.C. State's Web site. —Charles Duncan
