Quail Ridge Books—Judge Martin Clark has carved out a successful second career as an author of witty and cerebral legal thrillers. His recently-published third novel, The Legal Limit, has earned rave notices from reviewers across the U.S. Set in Clark's hometown of Stuart, Va., the novel is an intricate thriller about commonwealth's attorney Mason Hunt, whose felon brother Gates resorts to blackmail over an old family secret to get Mason to spring him from prison. Clark is doing a series of local readings to promote the book—Friday, Aug. 1 at the Regulator; Saturday, Aug. 2 at McIntyre's; and concluding with tonight's 7:30 p.m. event at Quail Ridge.
