Five Women Firsts For North Carolina
Piper's Deli—Hillary may be out of the running, but North Carolinians will have a chance to elect two high-profile women to statewide office: Kay Hagan and Bev Perdue. But there's more work to be done at the grassroots, so consider attending a kick-off meeting to elect five women "whose campaigns represent political firsts for North Carolina." The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at Piper's Deli, 3219 Old Chapel Hill Road, Durham. Call 544-3366. —David Fellerath
