Chapel Hill
El Ten Eleven; Cantwell, Gomez & Jordan
Local 506—Music for adventures: Los Angeles two-piece El Ten Eleven uses loops, effects and machines to make intricate, arching instrumental rock (Kraftwerk in the Sky?). Imagine the music Michel Gondry may conjure to score a short film documenting an intense round of Chutes & Ladders, or putting earbuds on heart ventricles during a sunny-day jog. Something like that, I promise. Bull City trio Cantwell, Gomez & Jordan takes similar scripts—better complete catharsis through compositional complexity—and adds unexpected accent marks. Wilmington's zig-zagging Fortress of Swatches opens. Pay $8 at 9 p.m. —Grayson Currin
