Panzanella—ArtsCenter founder Jacques Menache opens a show of his own work, which reflects his longtime interest in surgery, biology and electron photomicroscopy, combining various materials and techniques such as acrylic, encaustic, collage, assemblage and drawing. A reception takes place at the restaurant from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; the dining room will be closed during this time. For more information, visit www.panzanella.com. —Zack Smith

Broad Street Café—Musical eclecticism plays as big a role as wood-fired pizzas when it comes to the appeal of the café, with genre-hopping triple bills a specialty. At 7 p.m., this night brings Justin Robinson, equally as compelling as one-third of the Carolina Chocolate Drops string-band and all of the trip-folk experiment Birds or Monsters. Next up is Brett Harris, whose homegrown pop brings to mind Richard X. Heyman, Doug Powell and others whose names should be recognized by more people. And closing the show at 9 p.m. is young piano guy Andy Frasco, who has alt-blues in tow. Your $10 donation goes directly to Durham Public Schools courtesy of the Save the Music Foundation. See www.thebroadstreetcafe.com. —Rick Cornell
