Mixtape #4

When: Tue., Nov. 27, 8 p.m. 2012
Price: $3

Tama Hochbaum is a photographer obsessed with startling images of a shimmering, kinetic and profoundly tectonic world (see tamahochbaum.com). Poet Joe Donohue's tribute to the Hudson River School of painters (in his Terra Lucida) concludes: "For the first time, we feel/ what it means to live on a planet./ [...] And finally we can begin to feel/ what the open sky might mean." Adam Good is an interdisciplinary artist and self-styled "DJ of thought" (see bit.ly/DJthought) who has been devising techniques and tools to sample, break down and remix sources of knowledge. All three get (and give) the Mixtape treatment in the latest episode of this series, where artists share their favorite sounds, sights, words and influences with host (and Indy Week contributor) Chris Vitiello and a live audience. Admission to the 8 p.m. show is $3 (or free for Casbah members). —Byron Woods
