Abbey Road LIVE! is frequently hailed as one of the world's premiere Beatles tribute bands. One can quibble about the worth of becoming elite at re-creating somebody else's performances, but these cover-mongers are unquestionably expert at what they do. They dress the part, decking themselves alternately in '60s-era suits and an array of bright colors and tie-dye. The quicker songs move with the appropriate buoyancy, while their somber offerings connect deeply to the emotions at play. Like most impressionists, they entertain without ever feeling original. (The band also plays a $10–$12 show Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at Cat's Cradle in Carrboro).
