When: Thu., Oct. 13 2011
Price: $20

Not many Greenwich Village folk-scene veterans were actually born in the Village, but Maria Muldaur was. Originally Maria D'Amato before she married her Jim Kweskin Jug Band mate Geoff Muldaur (they later split up), she went on to 1970s one-hit-wonder pop status ("Midnight at the Oasis") before settling into a long career as an R&B stylist. Her latest, the Canadian import Steady Love, is a mostly upbeat, soulful affair; Muldaur still sounds full of life and spirit even as she nears 70 years. —Peter Blackstock
