We did the long distance thing for a few months after that, but eventually we gave it up. There was really no practical way for us to be together, short of getting married, and at 23, we just weren’t ready for that. So after we broke up I never thought I’d see her again, but one night, almost five years after going our separate ways, I drunkenly facebooked her. Once again, sparks immediately flew. Three months later we were back together in America.
