Man Or Astro-Man?, Fiend Without a Face, Nightmare Waterfall

When: Sat., Nov. 6, 9:30 p.m. 2010
Price: $15

Thought to have been exterminated from a world that could never fully comprehend its interstellar grandeur, Man or Astro-Man? will once again make Earth tremble in brutal anticipation: the manic surf 'n' spy guitar, the Cold War sci-fi footage, the astronaut jumpsuits, the Tesla coil. Yes, after nearly 10 years of dormancy, Man or Astro-Man? has officially returned from cryogenic slumber to spread their groovy, retro-futuristic instrumental gospel to the great unwashed. What began with just a few sporadic live performances earlier this year has blossomed into the promise of worldwide domination and perhaps even new music. However, even if Man or Astro-Man? limit themselves to recapitulating previous transmissions like "The Miracle of Genuine Pyrex" or "Maximum Radiation Level," the band's appearances remain unlike any other. If Man or Astro-Man? is the question, then the answer is yes. Fiend Without a Face and Nightmare Waterfall open. —David Raposa
