Lucy Daniels is a well-known Raleigh psychologist and writer. She's also known as a scion of the Daniels publishing family that, as the owner of the Raleigh News and Observer, was a powerful force in city, state and national politics for generations. Thanks to In So Many Words, a 2013 documentary directed by Durham filmmaker Elisabeth Haviland James, her life and work has reached new audiences. In So Many Words revealed the harrowing side of growing up as a shy, literary child in an imperious household, but Daniels has told her stories in other ways, as well, including Walking With Moonshine, her 2013 collection of stories. She'll be reading from it tonight.
