I wonder if the author made the same mistake I did at this show re: the vocals. I stood too close to the stage. I've seen several shows at King's, but unfortunately it wasn't until this show that I discovered its weak spot. The house speakers that hang from the ceiling are positioned so that their backs are even with the stage and the dang things are several feet deep, so the house sound is originating from several feet into the crowd. The result? The first few rows of people mainly hear the sound from the stage itself, the band's own amps and the natural loudness of the drums, rather than the mix with the vocals coming from the house speaker. An unamplifed human voice doesn't stand a chance against those cabs.

I also saw them in Charlotte and DC and rest assured, Matt is hitting all the notes. Thanks for covering this though!
