Felons' right to vote needs support
Thanks for a great article ("Denied the vote," by Mosi Secret, Nov. 1). For years I have been spreading the word. I have contacted the higher-ups in the Department of Corrections to try and get them to put voter registration cards at the probation/parole offices throughout North Carolina. They didn't feel it was their responsibility. I feel it is their responsibility and worded within their guidelines to ensure that these inmates or parolees succeed after their term has ended with the system. How much would it hurt to hand them a voter registration card or just have it in their offices? If there is anything you can do to help me to bring attention to that matter, it would be greatly appreciated.
