No, this isn't a string quartet performance. Nor is it an ensemble with a violin in front. It's only the dynamic Leila Josefowicz and her violin. OK, John Novacek slinks in to add piano to a couple of selections in a program highlighted by John Adams' hard-driving "Road Movies" and Gyorgy Kurtag's evasive "Three Pieces." But other than that, Josefowicz owns the entire stage. A frequent collaborator to Adams, she has a talent for his middle ground between the melodic and the atonal. She also handles lovely melodic music such as the songs of Spanish composer Manuel de Falla's "Suite Populaire Espagnole." —Chris Vitiello
