Lee Boys

When: Sun., Nov. 14, 7 p.m. 2010
Price: $10

Miami-based family band The Lee Boys are among the finest touring acts currently celebrating the sacred steel tradition of the House of God church. Along the lines of the style's best-known practitioners, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, The Lee Boys make a joyful noise by jamming out on soulful, funky, spiritual tunes rooted in blues rock with lingering strains of jazz and hip-hop. The Lees aren't afraid to stray into the secular realm either, often covering R&B classics by Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Parliament. Don't be afraid to skip the evening service: The Lee Boys will take you to church at 7 p.m. —Spencer Griffith
