Almost a year after shifting home base to Brooklyn, Raleigh rhymers Kooley High still make frequent migrations down south. They show the same hometown love while up north, too, having thrown a pair of North Carolina-themed bashes already this year, complete with Bojangles cups and Cheerwine. The good-natured crew has maintained its prolific pace in the wake of its mostly excellent debut LP, dropping intermittent singles and videos along with a steady stream of solo material and features. King Mez's star continues to rise, having recently flexed his nimble, confidence-dripping flow and sharp lines on an MTV2 Sucker Free Freestyle. 9th Wonder protégés Thee Tom Hardy and HaLo join. All told, a solid hip-hop bill, and exactly the sort of thing we'd like to see more of Triangle-wide. —Spencer Griffith
