Between his father, Steve Earle, and namesake, Townes Van Zandt, 28-year old Justin Townes Earle has a lot to live up to. So far, he's acquitted himself well: While he draws from similar influences as his father, Justin hews closer to traditional country-blues forms, generally steering clear of the rock. Sure, his latest, Harlem River Blues, gets rockabilly on "Move Over Mama" and "Ain't Waitin'," but it's mostly subsumed with a soulful Americana swing.
