Jon Scieszka

When: Mon., Aug. 25, 7 p.m. 2014
Jon Scieszka (rhymes with "Fresca") has made a career of educating and subverting impressionable young minds with revisionist fairy tales such as The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, along with the long-running Time Warp Trio series, which was adapted into an animated series. Odds are either your kids loved these or you loved them yourself in your younger, less cynical years. Now is the time to thank Scieszka in person and check out his new book Frank Einstein and the Antimatter Motor, where a young genius invents a couple of robots and deals with his thieving rival, T. Edison. Subliminally schooling kids in the ways and dangers of copyright infringement! A new generation awaits, Mr. Scieszka. —Zack Smith
