Joe Taylor's a onetime Nashville session player who worked with Donna Summer, The Roches and Buddy Miller. In the '90s he spent time with RCA Victor as a staff producer, yielding a Grammy-nominated series of ambient/ trance albums under the moniker Oracle. For his own part, he favors smooth jazzy sounds that touch on adult pop and blues-soul fusion. His fluid style and loose improvisational creativity should excite jam-band fans. Taylor is still supporting 2010's Accidental Sugar, whose languid, Latin-tinged tones land somewhere between Santana and New Age. —Chris Parker
