Re: “Five Things We Want to See from New Governor Roy Cooper

Are you familiar with the term "subset"? I know it's bourgeois fashion to forget this, but there are, in fact, others.

Left-liberals learn absolutely nothing. 1) The only meaningful priorities are the two LAST on your list. and 2) Exactly where on this list is the material welfare of working people? This has really become a completely worthless rag.

Re: “The INDY Endorses Hillary Clinton for President

So, please refresh my memory... "Indy" is shorthand for what was it exactly? Oh yes, "independent"! As in "independent thought", "independent analysis", and so on.

One would imagine "independent analysis" might lead to the inevitable conclusion that it's not, in fact, in the interests of the working people to hand supreme authority to someone who is 1) an outrageously corrupt Wall Street crony; 2) the immediate family member of another President; 3) demonstrated to have rigged elections, disenfranchising her own Party's voters; 4) who has aggressively pushed for the destruction of multiple independent Arab societies by arming and funding radical islamic militias to destabilize their governments (the people living there be damned); 5) who has been behind every neoliberal trade deal and backward economic policy that comes up; 6) who has been behind every neocon war, and backed every antidemocratic coup and criminal assassination that U.S. imperialist interests can devise; 7) who is best friend of the repressive Saudi dictatorship (while posturing as a principled champion of gay and women's rights), and of the Nazi-oligarch Ukraine coup; and 8) who incessantly shouts to anyone who will listen her outrageous neo-McCarthyite anti-Russian nonsense.

Because, clearly, the biggest problems for working people in this country? They have all been caused by Putin! Unemployment? That was Putin. Destabilization of the Middle East? Putin. Financial policy that crashed the global economy? Putin again. Massive giveaway to the bloated parasitic insurance industry known variously as Romneycare, Obamacare and the Heritage Foundation's health care plan of '89? Putin. Brutal unaccountable police state that regularly murders its citizens, including women and children, in the streets, year in and year out? Putin there too. Corrupt Democratic Party disenfranchising it's own voters? "Putin made us do it!" Imported al-Nusra terrorists have not done the job of taking out Assad quickly enough so that a corrupt US puppet regime might have been installed by now? Oh, wait... that one Russia actually seems to have something to do with.

Enough is enough. Uncritically shilling for the most corrupt representatives of bourgeois liberalism is not an act of "independence", nor is it a confidence-inspiring recognition of the social and political state of things relatable to anyone beyond the trivial affluent middle class dog-whistle crowd to whom you seem content to restrict your circulation.
