Jeanne Jolly, Roger Gupton

When: Sat., April 13, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $10-12

Jeanne Jolly will take you back to '70s country icons such as Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn with the full-throated country-rock of her 2012 full-length debut, Angels. It's an earthy approach, occurring in a spacious environment that echoes the plaintive call of the pedal steel against her voice. A graduate of St. Mary's School in Raleigh, Jolly has a voice of character—not big or showy, but plenty clear. The songs aren't as far along as their delivery, but they're a start. With Roger Gupton. —Chris Parker
