Since the U.S. invasion began on March 20, 2003 (last month's numbers in parentheses):

  • 3,901 U.S. troops killed (3,882)
  • 28,711 U.S. troops injured (28,582)
  • 307 Coalition troops killed (306)
  • 423 contractors killed (420)
  • 7,759 Iraqi police and military killed (7,708)
  • 87,287 Iraqi civilians killed (84,812)

Since Feb. 1, when President Bush began troop escalation:

  • 815 U.S. troops killed
