"I believe that the ordinary objects and small, private rituals of daily life, sometimes poignant, sometimes so commonplace as to be overlooked, are sacred and elegant," says Anthony Ulinski. The Raleigh artist is a North Carolina treasure who's well-known for his woodworks, which can be viewed at Raleigh's Dovetail Woodworks, but he is also an accomplished painter, who has studied with Jacob Cooley. His latest exhibition, Still Life, comprises still lifes painted in a studio in rural Virginia, where he spent the month of January, capturing objects in the harsh light of winter. His new work (pictured) can be viewed in the Leggett Theater Gallery at Peace College in Raleigh from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, through mid-April. Call 508-2267 for details.
