You can buy your vegetables or the plants to grow your own and wander around getting inspired about this year's growing season. Farmers markets across the Triangle are in full bloom. Here are some of the ways you can support your local farmer.

In Carrboro, the market is on Saturdays, from 7 a.m. to noon and Wednesdays, 4-7 p.m at Carrboro Town Commons, near the intersection of Weaver and West Main Streets. Visit www.carrborofarmersmarket.com for details.

Durham's market is Saturdays, 8 a.m.-noon across from Measurement, Inc, (423 Morris St), one block south of the Old Durham Ball Park. Information at www.durhamfarmersmarket.com.

Fearrington Village's farmers market is Tuesdays, at 4 p.m. Call 542-2121 for details.

The Hillsborough farmers market is located near the intersection of King and Churton Streets and goes from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Information at 732-8315.

The granddaddy of them all--the state farmers market in Raleigh--is at 1201 Agriculture Street (I-40 and Lake Wheeler Road, exit 297). Hours are Monday-Saturday from 5 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 6 pm.
