Michelle Tea will read from her new book Valencia, a scary, beautiful tour through the Mission District's dyke scene. Shar Rednou--that's Reverend Shar to you--will preach the gospel of femme, while Jackie Strano, Kassy Kayiatos and Sash Sunday will rile with music and clips from the forthcoming documentary Poetic License.
The main event takes place Sunday, Oct. 22 at the Hanes Art Center Auditorium on UNC-Chapel Hill's campus. There's also a 7 p.m. reception at Internationalist Books, as well as the 9-ish p.m. reprise at Skylight Exchange, with music by Rubeo and performances by local artists. For more info, call IBooks at 942-1740 or the Skylight at 933-5550. --Whitney Vaughan
